 We are so happy and surprised to be interviewing 129 applicants and their families this year. We appreciate the efforts of all the participants, reviewers and interviewers, without whom this magic would not be possible. Soon we will begin Stage 4, individual interviews, and we are eager to have our new class of 2023 scholarship recipients. – Dulce Cerritos / Selection Process Coordinator. We are hearing 129 stories, 60% more than in 2022. We have been seeing families looking for a common goal, a university education, that will give them more and better opportunities for their future. A bright story of dreams and hope is that of our anonymous applicant:  “I have always thought that having a career does not guarantee success in life, but it certainly gives you more job opportunities; so my goal is to finish it and enjoy the process while being perseverant and dedicated. I want to be able to design spaces with my own concept, I want to leave a mark with my work, and – why not – mark a “before and after” in Mexican architecture, that goes hand in hand with the environment. I should be selected for the scholarship because it would propel me to achieve my objectives and goals in the short and long term, as well as give me the tools to elevate my name and the name of all those who support me – to transcend and leave a mark. In 5 years I see myself being the best son, the best brother and most importantly, a better me.“ – Aspirant 2023 / Architecture Student (Translated.) Every single one of these remaining applicants will either be the first in their family to go to university, or share that distinction with a sibling. They are the first generation, blazing a trail that carries a singular motivation above all: to better the state of their lives, of their parents, and of their Mexico. “Families are looking for ways to get ahead through their children’s university education… something beyond a temporary job, the interviews have allowed us to see their great aspirations, and I believe that with the scholarship and complementary tools of Jóvenes Adelante this could increase the results of their efforts.“ – JA Interviewer  The gift of supporting an education, of supporting a student over 4 or 5 years of a university career is the gift of making a lasting impact.
