Help apprentices protect it for generations to come.
Greetings!
Across 28 rural communities, 40 young apprentices are stepping into something remarkable: the Water School — a two-year journey where they’re learning not just about water, but about leadership, community, and care for the land.
They’ve mapped their villages, revived traditions like the faena (communal work), strengthened ties between generations of watershed stewards, and begun seeing themselves as part of something larger.
Here’s what some of the apprentices are saying:
“They asked us to organize a faena in my community. That changed something in me. Now, when I think about it, I feel excited to be working alongside my neighbors, fixing up our village. They reminded us to keep doing this — because our village is our home.”
“I find this very important — this is my home. I’ve seen changes in myself; I call it healthy, like mental and spiritual well-being… Now go ahead and ask me, because now I truly know the history of my community.”
In Year Two, apprentices will take their learning into action — leading community projects such as reforestation, harvesting rainwater, and monitoring water quality. To make these projects possible, they will need tools, materials, and logistical support.
That’s where you come in. Here’s how your gift can help:
Your generosity can help provide these young leaders with the resources to put their learning into practice — ensuring that the next generation of watershed stewards is equipped to protect both people and nature.
